Introduction to non-destructive testing

Non-destructive testing is the process of testing or evaluating materials, components or entire assemblies for abnormalities or differences in characteristics without distroying or affecting the usability of the tested item.
The goal of this course is to acquire a basic knowledge in non-destructive testing.
The training course includes an overview of all commonly used non-destructive testing techniques.

Participants will gain a basic knowledge of non-destructive testing, what tests are available and for what purposes they can be used.
The focus of the course is on applicability in the power generation field with a large number of case studies presented by Laborelec experts.
The course covers the following topics:

  • Visual testing
  • Penetrant testing
  • Magnetic particle testing
  • Eddy current testing
  • Radiographic testing
  • Ultrasonic testing
