Fish protection at industrial water intakesFish mortality at industrial water intakes has been widely studied and is known to have a significant negative effect on several fish species like migratory species (Atlantic salmon, European eel). Mitigation of fish mortality at water intakes is now a legal obligation in some countries in Europe as well as in other countries like USA or Canada.
Our goal is to be the scientific partner helping the industry to reduce this environmental impact with the best technology available, and a site by site approach. We offer both a scientific consulting for power plant project, but also an efficient fish behavioural barrier: the infrasound fish fence. |

For new power plant projects, ProFish Technology proposes various services: biological analysis of the fish population and potential incidence of future water intake, recommendation for water intake dimension and orientation, recommendation for filtering systems, recommendation for fish protection devices.
For hydroelectricity, we also design fish pass for upstream and downstream migration.
ProFish Technology: products
Our infrasound fish fence has demonstrated a high efficiency in repelling various fish species, and the application at a nuclear cooling water intake has demonstrated an efficiency of more than 85%. We are now able to propose this technology as an efficient solution, but for each demand, we realise a first complete analysis to determine if really our system is a potential solution. The scientific quality of our service is also to avoid installing an infrasound fish fence at a site where it has no chance to efficiently work. |
